CCI Anesthesia, a privately owned leader in anesthesia practice management, initially collaborated with Lucid Advertising for a rebrand in 2019. Since partnering with Lucid, the company has significantly grown brand awareness and has more than doubled its revenue to over $110 million in 2022.

In early 2023, CCI was ready to step up to the biggest stage in the industry and attend the Becker's Hospital Review 13th Annual Meeting. All of the company's competition would be there with their traditional business models. And, we needed a campaign that stood out from the clutter and communicated that they have a different story to tell and a better, more innovative solution.

Lucid Solution

The team at Lucid executed a multi-faceted marketing campaign for CCI, designed to engage trade show attendees before, during, and after the event. The strategy incorporated a landing page, social media outreach, paid advertising, direct mail, and email.

The messaging highlighted the predictability of most trade shows-same companies, same faces, same sales pitches-year after year. The initial email and direct mail teaser embraced this sentiment with one simple, repetitive message: "Blah, Blah, Blah." This theme extended to a stand-alone landing page, which existed on a custom domain without any CCI brand elements or links to the company's main website. The deliberate absence of identifying details heightened curiosity and encouraged engagement.

The campaign immediately resonated with attendees looking for fresh ideas and real solutions. The teaser email alone led to a 400% spike in click-through rates among hospital CEOs, compared to the previous three months combined. By the time the trade show began, the audience was primed for CCI's message-turning curiosity into meaningful conversations. CCI stood out as a company delivering substance, not just another sales pitch.
